Pope Leo XIV presides this afternoon over the Holy Mass at the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, one of the central events of his apostolic visit to Spain. After praying before the tomb of Antoni Gaudí and being received by King Felipe VI, the Pontiff celebrates the Eucharist in the emblematic Barcelona temple before participating in the inauguration and blessing of the Tower of Jesus Christ, the most outstanding architectural element of the project conceived by the Catalan architect. The ceremony will culminate with a light show and the unveiling of a commemorative plaque.
