«Conspiracy to have Pope Francis “harm” the Bishop of Barbastro-Monzón by transferring him to Ciudad Real

If there was a conspiracy, at the moment we do not know who the conspirators were, although everything suggests that among them were members of Opus Dei.

And the transfer, if it had taken place, does not seem to us to be any harm to Pérez Pueyo but rather a notable favor to his person. The bishop has been a constant source of conflicts that the transfer would have definitively resolved without any harm to those who very much deserve it, given the obsession that motivates all his actions. And that obsession is called Torreciudad. Which, by the way, is the only thing alive in a diocese that is dying.

At first it seemed that everything was due to a clumsy fundraising attempt so unseemly that the bishop himself has distanced himself from it. And now everything seems to boil down to an image that he wants in a humble hermitage where no one would go today and not in the splendid temple, a few meters from the hermitage, where it receives solemn veneration and thousands of visitors. So that more than the good of the Virgin and her veneration, it seems that the only thing that moves him is to harass Opus Dei.

The transfer of the bishop, which a couple of years ago would have been a dignified exit, seems increasingly impossible because Pérez Pueyo already turned 70 last August 18. With all the appointment procedures completed, he would have barely 4 years and a few months left to govern the new diocese without getting to know it well before submitting his resignation.

So, a conflict that seems to us to make very little sense.
