Abascal responds to Magán: «his priority is the business»

The leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, has harshly criticized the Spanish Episcopal Conference following their recent statements on immigration, accusing them of not confronting the Government and acting driven by economic interests.

Abascal’s reaction comes after the CEE defended that the response to immigration must be based on the Gospel and not on “slogans”, emphasizing the dignity of every person in the face of proposals such as the so-called “national priority”.

In a message disseminated on social networks, the Vox leader stated that the ecclesiastical institution “never dares to criticize the mafia government”, and maintained that its stance would be conditioned by material interests.

The political leader went further by stating that “the government provides it with its business through the invasion”, in reference to the work of organizations linked to the Church in the field of migrant care.

According to Abascal, this situation would explain why the Episcopal Conference has as its “priority the business” and not the defense of the Spaniards, whom he accused of being despised by those who “want to defend their homeland”.

For its part, the bishops’ spokesperson insisted that the Church is not guided by slogans and recalled that the fundamental criterion is the Gospel, stating that “the neighbor is not only the one from my party, my country, or my religion”.
