Please, I know full well that there are no Carlist Masses. Only Masses. Although at some of them the attendees may be mostly Carlists. Well, I have just attended one of those. Excellently celebrated and attended. For Paula Gambra Mariné, who passed away at the age of 44, after a very brief and exemplary life as a Catholic and Carlist militant. As if God had wanted to take with Him someone who loved Him so much and made public demonstration of it.
The Mass was in the ancient rite, so dear to her grandparents Rafael Gambra and Sebastián Mariner, beloved and admired friends of unforgettable memory. Those Masses are a delight because everything is done well. By the celebrant and by those being celebrated. The Mass took place at the Church of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest and the homily by Father Raúl Olazabal was excellent, for the occasion and for those present. It had been a long time since I had attended a homily so appropriate for the act and for those present at the Mass.
Since there were communion rails, communion was generally received kneeling and on the tongue. A few steps ahead of me was someone with an obvious limp. I thought they would receive standing, but upon arriving they knelt and without great difficulty. I will continue to demand communion rails, although I know it will be in vain in the parish of Caná. But I am very persistent and they will keep hearing from me. Quite a few women with the white Carlist beret that suited them very well. María Gambra with it, spectacularly beautiful.
Children in the aisles at some point. Nothing overwhelming. Rather a joy to see them. One of them, very small, every time he passed in front of the tabernacle made a genuflection. Good for him and for his parents.
At the end of the Mass, a long gathering on the sidewalk, very pleasant greetings all around.
Well, dear JoséMiguel, another strong hug in the unforgettable memory of your wonderful Paula.
