Two recommended books published by Homo Legens

Dear reader,

This April we publish two books about men who chose to die rather than apostatize. We tell you why we believe they deserve attention.

The first is the biography of Antonio Molle Lazo, the young Gaditan requeté martyred in Peñaflor on August 10, 1936. He was 21 years old. The militiamen offered him his life in exchange for shouting «Viva Rusia». He refused. He died shouting «¡Viva Cristo Rey!». His beatification process is still open. Fray Santiago Cantera Montenegro, O.S.B., Benedictine monk of the Valle de los Caídos and doctor in History, reconstructs his life with rigor and with the emotion of someone who writes, in his own words, before someone «before whom I have felt profoundly unworthy».

The second is Las aventuras del padre Solé, biography of the Claretian priest José María Solé Romá, who died in the odor of sanctity a little more than thirty years ago. He survived the religious persecution of the war, decades of crisis in the Church, and, in May 1981, an attack that has a mysterious connection with the one that Saint John Paul II suffered days later. Dr. José María Montiu de Nuix reconstructs his life based on an investigation that he himself describes as «detective-like»: direct sources, firsthand testimonies, unpublished documents.

Attached you will find the complete press releases for both titles.

I remain at your disposal to send you review copies, arrange an interview with the authors, or provide you with any additional material you may need.

Cordial regards,
