The so-called «baby fair» that the Ukrainian company BioTexCom had planned to hold on September 12 and 13 in Warsaw, Poland, has been postponed after the venue designated as the site refused to rent its facilities. The decision comes after complaints and mobilizations by Polish pro-life and Catholic organizations against an event intended to promote surrogacy programs with prices of up to 64,900 euros.
The Ordo Iuris Institute has confirmed that Centrum Żoliborz, owner of the halls located at number 49 Aleje Jerozolimskie that had been designated as the venue, not only declined to rent them to BioTexCom, but also states that the company never actually reserved them and had no authorization to use its address in promoting the event.
«We categorically do not want to collaborate»
Ordo Iuris contacted Centrum Żoliborz on September 7 to verify whether BioTexCom had indeed reserved the facilities announced for its event.
The owner’s response was categorical. It explained that it had received an inquiry from the Ukrainian company about the possibility of renting a hall and had even sent it an offer, but the reservation was never formalized.
«After learning what this entity does, we categorically do not want to establish any cooperation with it or rent it our training rooms,» the venue responded, adding that BioTexCom «in no way had the right to use our address.»
Centrum Żoliborz is now informing those inquiring about the event that it has been postponed to another date and, for the time being, will not take place. The reason being cited is the safety of BioTexCom’s clients.

Complaint to the Prosecutor’s Office and mobilization of Catholic organizations
The loss of the venue comes after several initiatives aimed at preventing the event from taking place. Ordo Iuris had filed a complaint with the Warsaw-Śródmieście District Prosecutor’s Office to investigate BioTexCom’s activities and their possible classification as crimes related to the illegal organization of adoptions, preparation for human trafficking, and participation in an organized criminal group.
Judicial action was joined by a public petition, calls from Catholic Action and the Polish Episcopal Conference, the announcement of a protest rally, initiatives by the Center for Life and Family, and coverage of the case by numerous media outlets. Ordo Iuris attributes to this pressure the decision that has prevented, at least for now, the event from taking place as planned.
The mobilization began after it became known that BioTexCom intended to present its commercial surrogacy programs in the Polish capital. The company, based in Ukraine, offers services that include the selection of the surrogate mother, assisted reproduction procedures, pregnancy and delivery monitoring, and the subsequent delivery of the child to those who contracted the program. Its packages reach 64,900 euros.
Ordo Iuris maintains that this model turns the woman’s body into a production instrument and the child into the object of a transaction, and has for years been calling for commercial surrogacy to be addressed legally also from the perspective of the sale and trafficking of children.
BioTexCom maintains its offer and offers WhatsApp consultations
The postponement does not mean, for now, that BioTexCom has abandoned its activities aimed at the Polish market. According to Ordo Iuris, the announcement of the September 12 and 13 event continues to be published on the company’s website, while potential clients are being directed to individual conversations via WhatsApp.
The pro-life organization therefore considers it premature to consider the case closed. Although BioTexCom has been left without the announced venue and the event will not take place under the planned conditions, the company continues to offer free online consultations to people interested in its surrogacy programs.
The Church denounces the conversion of the child into an object of a contract
Opposition to surrogacy is part of the defense of the dignity of women and children upheld by the Church. The declaration Dignitas infinita, published in 2024 by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, recalls that this practice gravely violates the dignity of both and denounces that the child is turned «into a mere object.»
The document also recalls that the legitimate desire to have a child cannot be transformed into a «right to a child,» since the child possesses inherent dignity that prevents treating them as an object of a contract or economic transaction.
The postponement of the Warsaw event prevents, for the time being, BioTexCom from holding the commercial gathering announced for this weekend. The complaint filed with the Polish Prosecutor’s Office remains open, while the company keeps its surrogacy offer active through other channels.
