Cobo will preside over the 60th anniversary of the Neocatechumenal Way and will close the diocesan phase of the cause of Carmen Hernández

The Archbishop of Madrid will preside over a Eucharist in the Almudena Cathedral on May 30, accompanied by bishops and more than one hundred priests. Three days later, on June 2, he will close the diocesan phase of the beatification process of the co-founder of the Way, whose documentation will be sent to the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints.

Cardinal José Cobo will preside on Saturday, May 30, at 8:00 p.m. in the Almudena Cathedral, a commemorative Eucharist marking the sixtieth anniversary of the birth of the Neocatechumenal Way. The cardinal will be joined at the altar by several bishops and more than one hundred priests, in a celebration that will bring together members of the neocatechumenal communities of the Archdiocese of Madrid.

The anniversary takes on special significance as it coincides with the closing of the diocesan phase of the beatification and canonization process of the Servant of God Carmen Hernández, co-founder of the Way alongside Kiko Argüello. The closing ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 2, also at 8:00 p.m., in the Redemptoris Mater Seminary in Madrid, where Hernández is buried. From there, the documentation will be sent to the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints in Rome for the process to continue.
