At the beginning of last year in Palermo, a student attended class with an inverted crucifix around her neck, an emblem of Satanism and a direct offense to the Christian faith. The history and philosophy teacher who questioned the young woman for displaying that symbol was suspended for three days and ordered to pay three thousand euros after losing his appeal in the Labor Court in July of this year.
Satanism is not a religion, it is an attack on Christianity
The International Association of Exorcists (AIE) —founded by the renowned exorcist, Father Gabriel Amorth— has once again warned that Satanism cannot be considered a religion comparable to others. Its essence is rebellion against God, the profanation of the sacraments, and hatred for the Church.
Allowing the display of the inverted cross in classrooms means legitimizing an act of intolerance against Christians. The inverted cross is one of the most used emblems in Satanism. It not only expresses opposition to Christianity, but its radical rejection and purported defeat. This is not about freedom of conscience, but a spiritual offensive that degrades the person and sows contempt for life from its conception.
A strategy to seduce children
The Palermo episode is not an isolated case. In 2019, in the United States, A Children’s Book of Demons was published, a book aimed at children between 5 and 10 years old in which they are invited to “summon demons” by drawing symbols presented as if they were “phone numbers” to contact evil spirits.
Like that book, multiple initiatives in music, cinema, television, and social media promote the normalization of occultism and demon worship, presenting them as an attractive option for young people and children.
The demon’s deadly trap
Exorcists warn: Satanism promises power, knowledge, and freedom, but it is a lethal deception. Under the guise of “alternative philosophy” or supposed emancipation, it hides hatred for Christ, contempt for the human person, and a culture of death.
The Christian is called to discern, protect the little ones, and not be seduced by symbols or currents that seek to normalize what is, in reality, a slavery to God’s enemy.
