Resignation and Appointment of the Bishop of Venice (U.S.A.)

The Holy Father has accepted the resignation from the pastoral governance of the Diocese of Venice (U.S.A.) presented by His Excellency Mons. Frank J. Dewane.

The Holy Father has appointed as Bishop of Venice (U.S.A.) the Rev. Emilio Biosca Agüero, O.F.M. Cap., until now Parish Priest of the Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Washington.

Curriculum vitae

His Excellency Mons. Emilio Biosca Agüero, O.F.M. Cap., was born on December 15, 1964, in Fairfax, Virginia (U.S.A.). He obtained a License in Theology from the Pontifical John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and Family in Washington.

He was ordained a priest on May 21, 1994, for the Order of Capuchin Friars Minor.

He has held the following positions: Missionary in Papua New Guinea (1994-2006); Missionary in Cuba (2007-2018); since 2018, Parish Priest of the Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Washington.
