Because he is more responsible than a left-wing and lying priest who could appear in any diocese. But if the bishop appoints such a priest to relevant positions in his diocese, I think the bishop is much worse than the appointee. She knows her granddaughter’s name, how old she is, how she’s doing… She frequently gives her gifts. The image of the Catholic who receives communion every day and mistreats the employee is disgustingly Manichean. My wife does not receive communion every day, although almost.
