Appointment of the Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops and President of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America and confirmation of the Secretary and Under-Secretary of the same Dicastery
The Holy Father has appointed as Prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops and President of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America His Excellency Most Reverend Monsignor Filippo Iannone, O. Carm., until now Prefect of the Dicastery for Legislative Texts. He will take possession of the office on the next 15 October 2025.
The Supreme Pontiff has confirmed for another five years as Secretary of the Dicastery for Bishops His Excellency Most Reverend Monsignor Ilson de Jesus Montanari.
His Holiness Leo XIV has confirmed for five years Monsignor Ivan Kovač as Under-Secretary of the same Dicastery.
