The Episcopal Conference distances itself from Father Custodio

Well, there will be Catholics who distance themselves from the Episcopal Conference. They want to talk about everything except what interests Catholics.

And it’s curious how he places all the blame for the disengagement on Cardinal Omella, who in his opinion, as the archbishop of Custodio Ballester, is the one who should have spoken and not them. The argumentation doesn’t convince me, although I agree with the part about Omella, because in the case, it’s not about a specific opinion of a priest, which the judges have to determine if it was criminal or not, but whether priests enjoy freedom of expression or not, and if they are limited, it’s undoubtedly a matter for the CE.

Moreover, they should avoid contradictions, even from the same person, why yes to the Jumilla town hall and no to a judge from Málaga? Wouldn’t it be in that case the bishop of Cartagena and not the CEE who should have taken the lead? And in this one now, besides Omella, also the bishop of Málaga? Can there be greater uselessness of the Episcopal Conference proclaimed by the CEE itself?
