Pope Francis with the bishop of Barbastro and against Opus Dei

Pope Leo, much more cautious, has not spoken out in any way.

The pontifical commissioner has also not spoken out clearly, although he is attributed with an approach to Opus.

And what seems evident is that the bishop has stirred up a monumental fuss with no sense whatsoever over an image that, if taken to the old hermitage, would barely receive visits from the faithful.

Nor are there any supporters backing the bishop in his aspirations, which amount to nothing more than a personal whim.

A whim that would disappear with the bishop’s departure. Or with the threatened resignation. Which would matter to absolutely no one. Or only to the bishop.
