This is what Homo Legens is sending me:
«I am writing to you from Homo Legens to share the press release for our new publication: Don Marcelo, obedient and free, by Alberto José González Chaves, a popular biography of Cardinal Don Marcelo González Martín, Archbishop of Astorga, Barcelona, and Toledo, and Primate of Spain.
In a time that confuses freedom with insubordination, the life of Don Marcelo puts forward the opposite thesis: that obedience, rightly understood, is the highest form of freedom. He was also the bishop who, in 1978, warned that the constitutional formula ‘everyone has the right to life’ would not prevent abortion or divorce laws; history proved him right a few years later.
The book will be presented in Madrid on Monday, June 15. The speakers will be D. Miguel Ángel Velasco Puente, former director of Alfa y Omega; Dª. Rocío Pérez-Puig González, magistrate on leave; the author, Mons. Alberto José González Chaves; and the prologue writer, Mons. Santiago Calvo Valencia, personal secretary to the cardinal for forty-three years.»
I am sure both the book and the presentation are worth it. Therefore, I do not hesitate to recommend them to you.
