Cardinal Robert Sarah will speak this Wednesday, July 15, at the European Parliament in Brussels, invited by MEPs Paolo Inselvini and Nicolas Bay. The meeting will focus on reflecting on the relationship between Europe and Africa, with special attention to Christianity, culture, human dignity, and the future of both societies.
The event, organized by the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) group, will begin at 14:00 in room Spaak 5B1 of the European Parliament. The conference is titled Europe and Africa. In conversation with Cardinal Robert Sarah and will feature simultaneous interpretation in English, Italian, and French.

A program focused on the future of Europe and Africa
The session will open with remarks from MEPs Paolo Inselvini and Nicolas Bay, followed by institutional greetings from the Vice-President of the European Parliament, Antonella Sberna, and the Apostolic Nuncio to the European Union, Monsignor Bernardito Cleopas Auza.
The central moment of the meeting will be a lectio magistralis delivered by Cardinal Sarah. Antonio Brandi, president of Pro Vita & Famiglia, and Charles de Meyer, representative of SOS Chrétiens d’Orient, will then speak, before an open question-and-answer session with attendees.
One of the most influential Catholic voices
Robert Sarah, Prefect Emeritus of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, was created a cardinal by Benedict XVI in 2010. Originally from Guinea, he has held various positions in the Roman Curia and, after completing his mandate at the head of the dicastery for liturgy in 2021, continues to participate in conferences and international meetings.
