Pope Leo XIV will celebrate a prayer vigil with young people and preside over three massive Masses during his upcoming Apostolic Journey to Spain, whose first events have already been confirmed. The agenda includes celebrations in Madrid and in the Canary Islands.
A vigil with young people centered on Eucharistic Adoration
According to the official website of the trip, With the Pope, the first event will take place on Saturday, June 6, in Madrid’s Plaza de Lima. The Holy Father will participate in a prayer vigil with young people that will culminate in Eucharistic Adoration.
Before it begins, the Pope will tour the area in the popemobile to greet the attendees. The vigil will also include a message addressed to the young people.
Corpus Christi Mass and Eucharistic procession in Madrid
On Sunday, June 7, the solemnity of Corpus Christi, Leo XIV will preside over the Holy Mass in Plaza de Cibeles. After the celebration, a Eucharistic procession will take place through the nearby streets, also led by the Pontiff.
The coincidence with the Corpus Christi feast places the Eucharist at the center of this day.
Two Masses in the Canary Islands: Gran Canaria and Tenerife
The trip will continue in the Canary archipelago, where the Pope will celebrate two other Masses. The first will be on June 11 at the Estadio Gran Canaria.
The last celebration will take place on June 12 in the Port of Santa Cruz, in Tenerife, with which his visit to Spain will conclude.
