The Holy Father has accepted, due to reaching the age limit, the resignation of His Eminence the Cardinal Christophe Pierre and has appointed Apostolic Nuncio to the United States of America His Excellency Most Reverend Monsignor Gabriele Giordano Caccia, Titular Archbishop of Sepino, hitherto Permanent Observer of the Holy See at the United Nations Organization in New York.
