Week after week, there we are. A program to know what’s happening in the Church and to help us know, understand, evaluate.
We always start with the latest news from Rome. Things, generally, to point out without much depth. Don’t settle for knowing just something from your parish and a little more. It’s good to broaden horizons.
These have been the topics of the week
Spain
1. Plenary assembly of the Episcopal Conference. Few novelties on the agenda and a very interesting speech by the president.
2. Ideological persecution. Remember names like Reig Pla or Fr. Custodio. Watch out for straying from political correctness. Now, Munilla.
3. The mess at Valle de los Caídos continues. We don’t know the project. But the sketches speak of a very watered-down basilica.
WORLD
4. First contributions from the synodal working groups. Nothing. For example, what they say about controversial issues: The group has redefined these issues as «emerging» rather than «controversial», adopting the «principle of pastoral care» that prioritizes the recognition of the other’s subjectivity and responsibility towards the interlocutor.
5. The Mater populi fidelis mess. Let’s not forget that Tucho is “son” of Francis and that “make a mess”. Well, that’s it.
6. The largest image of the Virgin of Fátima in the world. 54 meters —the equivalent of a 15-story building—. And a project for an image of Christ of ¡200 meters!
7. New book by Cardinal Sarah. Music and liturgy. The aim of the work is to restore to sacred music its essential function: to lead souls to God, open them to mystery, and elevate them towards holiness.
8. Cardinal Damasceno resigns from his position as commissioner of the Heralds. It’s just that this Herald thing can’t be sustained in any way
You can listen to it at this link.
And every Friday at 9 p.m. Spain time live on the channel «En la Iglesia».
