In an article that I’m not going to link, Cardinals Bugnini and Baggio are listed as Freemasons. I have an excellent opinion of the article’s author, of his very notable knowledge about the Church and the Vatican, and also of the medium that hosts the article. Therefore, I attribute to a slip the assumption that Cardinal Bugnini’s membership in Freemasonry is certain. It’s always complicated to assign Masonic affiliations. However, I can assure you that Cardinal Bugnini was never a Mason. Because to be a Mason, one must exist, and Cardinal Bugnini never existed. As the article’s editor knows full well. That’s why I attribute to a slip the membership in Freemasonry of a non-existent cardinal.
Archbishop Bugnini was one of the worst and more. Did he also belong to Freemasonry? I don’t rule it out and it seems very possible to me. But Cardinal Bugnini no.
