And they keep being erected.
The Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You, is one of the most prayed ejaculatory prayers in Spain and perhaps it is the one that holds the first place.
And in the two centuries prior to the current one, in thousands and thousands of doors in Spanish houses, there is a mini-monument with the image of the Sacred Heart and the following legend: «Stop, enemy, the Sacred Heart of Jesus is with me.» The one in our Galician house has been there for more than a hundred years. And I feel protected. Both in that house and in the one we live in Madrid, it is enthroned, as in hundreds of thousands of Spanish houses, a small image of the Sacred Heart. The one from Galicia I remember from my tenderest childhood, the Madrid one was the doing of my wife and mine.
In the past, the Jesuits were unconditional devotees of the devotion to the Sacred Heart, which I remember very especially in my admired and very dear Fathers Caballero, Alba, and Arredondo.
And I want to make a very positive mention of the Archbishop of Toledo, Cerro, who is possibly the bishop most devoted to the Sacred Heart in Spain.
