Gospel of the day March 2, 2026 – Luke 6:36-38

First Reading

Reading from the prophecy of Daniel

Daniel 9:4-10

In those days, I prayed to the Lord, my God, and made this confession: «Lord God, great and awesome, who keep your covenant and love for those who love you and observe your commandments. We have sinned, we have committed iniquities, we have been wicked, we have rebelled and turned away from your commandments and your laws. We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke to our kings, our princes, our fathers, and all the people.

Yours, Lord, is the justice, and ours is the shame on our faces, which now the men of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and all Israel, near and far, in all the countries where you have dispersed them, bear because of the unfaithfulness they committed against you.

Lord, the shame is ours, of our kings, our princes, and our fathers, because we have sinned against you. To our God, however, belongs mercy and forgiveness, though we have rebelled against him, and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God by following the laws he gave us through his servants the prophets.»

Gospel

Reading from the holy Gospel according to Saint Luke

Luke 6:36-38

At that time, Jesus said to his disciples: «Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful. Do not judge, and you will not be judged; do not condemn, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Give, and it will be given to you: a good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.»
