The Archdiocese of Madrid has released the music video for the official hymn of Convivium, the Presbyteral Assembly that brings together the diocesan clergy, a musical piece conceived as an invitation to renew vocation, communion, and mission in service to the People of God.
The hymn adopts a contemporary pop style, in line with formats commonly used in ecclesiastical productions. The choice of this style seeks, as inferred from the institutional message, to facilitate identification and participation, as well as to convey closeness and a sense of community.
Nevertheless, the result also reflects a clear adherence to a musical aesthetic that is today very widespread in the pastoral sphere, which in some cases may be perceived as a somewhat forced incorporation of codes typical of contemporary popular culture. Far from causing a break, the video rather acts as a mirror of the current ecclesial moment, of its communicative references and its way of expressing itself publicly.
