Sarah announces a new book on the future of the Church

Cardinal Robert Sarah has announced the publication of a new book, written in collaboration with French journalist Nicolas Diat, which will be titled 2050 and will be released on March 4.

The announcement was made by the cardinal himself through his official account on the social network X, where he explained that the work collects a series of conversations centered on the future of the Church, addressing both reasons for hope and the most serious concerns in the face of what he defines as manifestations of the loss of faith.

According to the message disseminated by the cardinal, the book is structured as a broad reflection on the ecclesial course in the coming decades. On the cover of the work appears a question that summarizes the focus of the volume: «In twenty-five years, will the Church still be a beacon or the distant echo of a forgotten voice?».

A dialogue on hope and crisis of faith

In his statement, Cardinal Sarah points out that in these conversations he wanted to express clearly both the reasons for hope and the deepest concerns he observes in the life of the contemporary Church. The cardinal does not detail in the announcement the specific contents of the book, but the formulation used refers to recurring themes in his magisterium and in his previous publications, centered on faith, liturgy, spiritual life, and doctrinal fidelity.

Cardinal Robert Sarah, emeritus prefect of the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, has published in recent years several books of great international diffusion together with Nicolas Diat, including God or Nothing, The Power of Silence, and The Day Is Now Far Spent, characterized by a critical tone towards secularization and the loss of the sense of the sacred.
