Reading from the second book of Samuel
2 Samuel 6, 12-15. 17-19
In those days, David went to the house of Obededom, where the ark of the covenant was, and transported it with great joy to the city of David. They had barely taken six steps carrying the ark when he sacrificed an ox and a fat calf.
David danced with all his might before the Lord, girded with a linen ephod, which the priests wore. David and all the house of Israel conducted the ark of the Lord with shouts of joy, to the sound of trumpets.
They brought the ark of the Lord and placed it in its place, in the middle of the tent that David had ordered to be pitched. Then David offered to the Lord burnt offerings and peace offerings. When he finished, David blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts and distributed to all the people, to every man and every woman of Israel, a loaf of bread, a portion of roasted meat, and a cake of raisins. Then they all went away, each to his house.

Mark 3, 31-35
At that time, the mother of Jesus and his relatives arrived where he was; they stayed outside and sent for him. A crowd was seated around him when they said to him: «Your mother and your brothers are outside looking for you.»
He replied to them: «Who is my mother and who are my brothers?» Then, looking at those seated around him, he said: «These are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of God, that one is my brother, my sister, and my mother.»
