The Diocese of Huelva will celebrate on Thursday, January 29, at 18:00, in the Cathedral of Our Lady of Mercy, a funeral Mass for the eternal rest of the victims of the railway accident that occurred in Adamuz (Córdoba), which will be presided over by the Bishop of Huelva, Mons. Santiago Gómez Sierra, as announced by the diocese itself.
The Eucharistic celebration will be a moment of recollection to commend the deceased to God’s mercy and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. The invitation also seeks to express, in a public and visible way, the Church’s closeness to the families affected by the tragedy, in a gesture of communion and hope.
During the Eucharist, there will be a special remembrance for the people and professionals who participated in the rescue, care, and relief efforts. The diocese has wanted to highlight their dedication and service in the face of the drama, emphasizing the value of those who, in the midst of pain, support their neighbor with concrete actions.
