Argüello will preside over an act of reparation following the desecration of the Tabernacle at La Santa Espina

The Archbishop of Valladolid, Monsignor Luis Argüello will preside over this Saturday, January 3, at 18:00 hours an act of reparation in the parish church of Santa María del Monasterio de La Santa Espina, in reparation for the profanation of the Tabernacle that occurred last Sunday, December 28.

According to information provided by the Archdiocese of Valladolid in an official statement, the Tabernacle of the temple was forced and profaned, and the Sacred Hosts that were inside it were stolen.

The statement emphasizes the special gravity of the event, recalling that the Most Holy Sacrament is the real presence of Jesus Christ, true God and true man, in his Body and in his Blood after the consecration. For this reason, the archdiocese qualifies what happened as a grave offense to the Lord and to the Catholic Church.

The fact, which has already been reported to the authorities, is the second profanation of the Tabernacle reported in a church in the diocesan territory in the same year, a fact that has prompted an explicit call to the faithful.

In this context, Argüello exhorts the faithful to pray in reparation for this sacrilegious act, as well as to care with special attention to the celebration of the Eucharist and the reservation of the Most Holy Sacrament in the Tabernacle, recalling the centrality of the Eucharistic Mystery in the life of the Church.
