Pope Leo XIV has appointed auxiliary bishop of the diocese of Villa de la Concepción del Río Cuarto (Argentina) to the presbyter Sergio Roberto Bosco, from the diocesan clergy, until now rector of the diocesan seminary, assigning him the titular see of Cissi, as reported by the Boletín de la Santa Sede.
Msgr. Bosco was born on February 1, 1970 in Sampacho, province of Córdoba. He carried out his studies in Theology at the Jesús Buen Pastor seminary in Río Cuarto and obtained the licentiate in Theology from the Universidad Católica Argentina. He was ordained a priest on October 10, 1997, remaining incardinated in the diocese of Río Cuarto.
Throughout his priestly ministry, he has held various pastoral responsibilities, including parochial vicar in Nuestra Señora del Carmen de Huinca Renancó and in General Deheza, parochial administrator of San José de Tegua in Alcira Gigena, and parish priest of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Berrotarán for more than a decade.
Since 2021, he has been rector and professor of the diocesan seminary, and since 2022, he has been a member of the College of Consultors, the Presbyteral Council, and the Council for Orders and Ministries.
Resignation in Buenos Aires
In the same communiqué, the Holy See reported that the Pope has accepted the resignation from the position of auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Buenos Aires presented by Msgr. Joaquín Mariano Sucunza, in accordance with the current canonical norms.
