The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has announced the election of its new officers for the period 2025-2028. Archbishop Paul S. Coakley, of Oklahoma City, has been elected the new president of the American episcopate, while Bishop Daniel E. Flores, of Brownsville (Texas), will hold the position of vice president.
The appointment was officially announced on November 11 through the USCCB’s institutional account on the social network X, during the annual assembly of the U.S. bishops held in Baltimore. The organization thanked the outgoing presidency for its work and asked for prayers for the elected prelates “as they begin a three-year term committed to the Church’s mission in the United States”.
