The Society of Saint Pius X on pilgrimage to Lourdes for the Solemnity of Christ the King

The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX) celebrated from October 25 to 27 its traditional international pilgrimage to Lourdes, coinciding with the feast of Christ the King of the Universe. Thousands of faithful from Europe and other continents gathered at the Marian shrine to pray, confess, and participate in Holy Mass according to the traditional rite.

The gathering, held in the context of a Jubilee Year in Lourdes, had as its motto “At the feet of the Immaculate, for Christ the King”, an expression of fidelity to the Catholic faith and to the Social Kingship of Our Lord.

During the first day, confessions were held, the Rosary was prayed, and a solemn Mass in the Basilica of Saint Pius X was celebrated, followed by the Way of the Cross through the Espélugues mountain. The day concluded with a meditative rosary for the conversion of souls and the unity of the Church.

In the central homily, Father Benoît de Jorna recalled that “no society can subsist without recognizing God as its foundation,” exhorting the faithful to live the faith with coherence and hope in the midst of a secularized world.

The FSSPX emphasized that this pilgrimage, faithful to the Mass of all times and to the spirit of penance requested by the Virgin of Lourdes, seeks to reaffirm Marian devotion and unity around Christ Eucharist.

“Lourdes remains a beacon of grace where faith is renewed and souls are converted,” the organizers stated at the close of the event.
