Feijóo has spoken, and he has done so with the clarity of the lukewarm. In an official letter from the Partido Popular, the Galician leader clears any doubt that might remain: the PP commits to guaranteeing the right to abort “with the best medical and psychological care, in accordance with the laws”. That is, the defense of the “right” to kill the unborn child, with anesthesia and an institutional smile.
But what’s really comical isn’t Feijóo. The funny thing is the predictability of the reaction:
- The usual suspects will act surprised (“How could he have said that?”).
- Then they will vote for them again (“because we have to stop the left”).
- And to top it off, they will demand that VOX “join the PP” for the good of Spain.
The average PP voter lives in a moral loop. They get scandalized, resign themselves, and justify it, all in the same weekend. And meanwhile, the blue party consolidates itself as the kindly manager of progressivism: without the purple scarf, but with the same catechism.
Feijóo promises serenity, transparency, and moderation. Translation: he will follow Sánchez’s cultural agenda, but without shouting.
So no, there’s no possible surprise. Just the eternal return of the voter who is horrified on Thursday and kneels on Sunday.
