On October 18, the so-called First Global Encounter “Trans Childhoods: Challenges and Possibilities” will be held in Argentina, organized by the Transformando Familias Foundation. The event, which will have the official support of the Legislature and Vice Governor Miguel Acevedo, will take place in Tucumán and aims to promote legal, health, and educational frameworks that recognize and advance gender self-determination in children and adolescents.
The congress, presented as an academic and social space, will feature the participation of activists, doctors, and jurists favorable to the trans agenda, including Chilean activist Eve Silva and Dr. Fabiana Reina. The stated objective is to consolidate international networks and promote legislative changes in Latin America regarding so-called “trans childhoods.”
A Frontal Denouncement
The political scientist and writer Agustín Laje described the encounter as a direct attack on childhood and publicly denounced the provincial government’s support. “Grave: child sexual abuse promoted by the Tucumán government. With the support of the Legislature and Vice Governor Acevedo, Tucumán will host the First Global Encounter ‘Trans Childhoods’”, he wrote on his X account.
Laje warned that the congress “seeks to legitimize the hormonalization and sexual mutilation of children, something that contradicts the principle of comprehensive protection of childhood,” and urged signing a public petition to demand that Vice Governor Acevedo withdraw his support for this initiative. Ideology Over Childhood
Under language that speaks of “rights,” “possibilities,” and “accompaniment,” the event risks legitimizing irreversible practices on vulnerable minors: hormone blockers, gender reassignment surgeries, and the cultural imposition of an ideological narrative that ignores biological reality.
The encounter does not include critical voices or plural debate, but rather functions as a propaganda platform to introduce gender ideology into the realm of childhood with institutional endorsement. In response, numerous voices denounce that what is presented as “inclusion” and “accompaniment” translates, in practice, into the manipulation and exploitation of the most defenseless.
