Pope Leo XIV has appointed Monsignor Filippo Iannone, O. Carm., until now prefect of the Dicastery for Legislative Texts, as the new prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops and president of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America. He will take possession of the office on October 15, 2025.
The Pontiff has also confirmed, for a new five-year period, Monsignor Ilson de Jesus Montanari as secretary of the Dicastery, and Monsignor Ivan Kovač as undersecretary.
