Linguistic and Pastoral Profile
The new Apostolic Nuncio to Iraq is fluent in several languages: Italian, English, French, Spanish, and Russian, which strengthens his diplomatic profile in a key country for the presence and future of Christian communities in the Middle East.
His appointment comes at a time when the Church in Iraq continues to face reconstruction challenges after years of violence and persecution, with the mission to accompany the faithful and strengthen interreligious dialogue.
